Maktab Quran is an online platform for live, one-to-one Quran lessons. A student and a teacher meet on a video call and — this is the part that makes us different — they share the same page of the Mushaf on screen at the same time. When the teacher moves to a verse, highlights a word, or marks a Tajweed mistake, the student sees it happen instantly. It's the closeness of a traditional maktab, delivered over the internet.
The name says it plainly: a maktab is the place where the Quran is learned, side by side with a teacher. That's exactly what we set out to recreate online — nothing more complicated, and nothing less personal.
Why we built it
Most online Quran teaching today happens over ordinary video calls, where a teacher holds a Mushaf up to the camera and the student squints, unsure which word is being corrected. There's no highlighting, no Tajweed colour-coding, no shared page. We thought learners deserved better — so we built the synchronized Mushaf that sits at the heart of Maktab Quran.

Maktab Quran connects students with independent, qualified Quran teachers. Each teacher creates their own public profile listing their experience, languages and specialties — Noorani Qaida, Tajweed, Hifz, Tafsir, Quranic Arabic, and classes for children.
